ESPN: Texans 2nd round pick signs historic rookie NFL contract.

Jayden Higgins, a rookie wide receiver with the Houston Texans, became the first player selected in the second round of the NFL draft to sign a four-year, fully guaranteed contract for $11.7 million.
Higgins, a star player at Iowa State, was selected by the Texans with the second overall choice (No. 34) in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Higgins’ contract with the Texans is the first time a player picked outside of the first round has received a completely guaranteed rookie deal. Normally, first round players in the NFL Draft are the only ones who receive fully guaranteed rookie contracts.
After the Texans selected him in the April 25 draft, Higgins remarked, “I just feel blessed.” When I received that call, my family and I were ecstatic. I’m content and prepared to perform for a fantastic company.
Texans sign fourth-round RB Woody Marks
On Saturday, running back Woody Marks signed his first NFL contract.
Marks signed a four-year rookie contract, the Texans announced. Aireontae Ersery, a second-round lineman, is now Houston’s last unsigned choice after he became the eighth member of the draft class to do so.
Last year, Marks transferred from Mississippi State to USC, where he ran 198 times for 1,133 yards and nine touchdowns. With the Trojans, he also caught 47 receptions for 321 yards.
For the Texans, Marks will be joined in the backfield by Joe Mixon, Dare Ogunbowale, Dameon Pierce, J.J. Taylor, and Jawhar Jordan.
