WATCH: Nick Chubb Vigorously Training For NFL Return Ahead of 2025 Season

After selecting Ashton Jeanty with the sixth overall pick, the Las Vegas Raiders should have a running back for the foreseeable future. Expectations are quite high because he is the highest-drafted running back since Saquon Barkley in 2018.

Nevertheless, Jeanty’s physique is already heavily worn from his 750 rushing efforts throughout his time in college. To split the responsibility at running back, the Raiders could be eager to add more players.

Browns Insider Shares Major Update on Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb is the biggest name still up for grabs in free agency. Once regarded as one of the NFL’s best running backs, the former Pro Bowler for the Cleveland Browns had his career cut short by injury.

Chubb only carried for 332 yards and played in just eight games the previous season. After sustaining an injured ACL and a ruptured MCL during the 2023 season, he could never be the same.

At the same time, he’d likely be inexpensive and not much of a risk. Regardless, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal was questioned about the prospect of the Raiders signing Chubb, and he doesn’t see it happening.

“Chubb probably wants to go somewhere where he is guaranteed playing time,” Bonsignore stated. “That’s not going to happen with the Raiders with rookie Ashton Jeanty and veteran Raheem Mostert holding down the top two spots.”

The Raiders still have Sincere McCormick and Zamir White under contract, both of whom have had some sparks, in addition to Mostert and Jeanty. At the moment, adding another running back is not a top priority for Las Vegas.
