Alperen Sengun, a center with the Houston Rockets, had a fantastic season. He made a name for himself as one of the league’s top centers and was named an all-star for the first time. Sengun averaged 4.9 assists, 10.3 rebounds, and 19.1 points per game.
Alperen Sengun was one spot away from being selected for an all-NBA squad, ranking 16th overall in NBA voting. He received eight votes for second place and forty votes for third place. In the Western Conference, Houston had the second-best record at the end.
Sengun is in his fourth season in the league, and his offensive style is a nightmare for opponents. Sengun makes opponents pick their poison with a variety of post moves, a rising three-point shooting ability, and a fluid mid-range jumper. His basketball intelligence makes him important outside of the box score, whether he’s establishing bone-crushing screens or starting fast breaks with accurate outlet passes.
Sengun has established himself as the mainstay of the Rockets’ interior defense as a tenacious rim protector, outspoken leader, and rebounding machine. The Rockets management and head coach Ime Udoka have stated that they are focusing on Sengun and Jalen Green. Sengun has a bright future since he will eventually be selected for the all-NBA squad.
