However, he finally gave some insight into his side of the Soto sweepstakes, and in the process, he gave Yankees supporters some harsh realities.

This was always a misleading herring, especially considering how harshly Judge was criticized and how thoroughly Soto’s remarks regarding his former colleague were scrutinized. In actuality, the outfielder’s choice would never be based on anything as trivial and insignificant as whether he liked Judge personally or if he received a few texts from No. 99 during the offseason. Soto was deciding how he would spend the remainder of his baseball career; money and winning, in whatever order you choose, were the only things that counted.

In an interview with the New York Post on Wednesday, Judge stated as much. He stated, “I let him make his decision for the most part, but I tried to do my part.” Because a few things I say won’t make a major difference in what you and your family decide is best for you. He understood what we were all about because he played with us over the whole spring, playoffs, and regular season. I’m pleased for him and the agreement he reached.

Yankees supporters fervently hope that Soto will be the villain, that he will discover some unmistakable evidence that he was a heinous criminal who can take full responsibility for a lustful and illogical choice. The Mets had a lot to offer competitively after making it to the NLCS with a youthful core that was exciting, but in the real world, Steve Cohen offered the highest salary. Though assigning blame isn’t as rewarding, that’s essentially what this boils down to.

In addition, Soto and the Yankees seem to be doing well.

Judge said, “The friendship Juan and I have is the most important thing to me when it comes down to it.” “My top objective is obviously helping the Yankees field the greatest squad and getting them to win. But when a guy decides to go somewhere else, people start to ask, “How can I help him and support him?” I’m at that point.

Regardless of how much people want to interpret Soto’s body language, he had a great year in the Bronx. As he should, he’s also enjoying himself immensely in Queens at the moment. Although Yankees supporters will continue to believe that Soto was twisting his mustache behind the scenes, it seems to be a far way from the reality. This was never about anything other than what every previous free agency has been about.
