Breaking news: Detroit Lions favorite DE ‘fully cleared’ for activities after suffering a horrific leg injury in 2024.

Aidan Hutchinson, the great pass rusher for the Detroit Lions, seems to have had a significant turning point in his recuperation from a horrific leg injury that terminated his 2024 season too soon. In Week 6, he shattered both his tibia and fibula, necessitating emergency surgery and a period of inactive rest to finish the season.
Late in May, Hutchinson spoke to media about his progress in his rehabilitation.
“What’s the next hurdle for you in terms of getting back to doing everything?” a reporter inquired.
In response, Hutchinson said, “I’m fully cleared,”
At the time of his injury, Hutchinson had 7.5 sacks, which put him in the lead for the 2024–25 Defensive Player of the Year award, which went to Patrick Surtain II of the Denver Broncos. Hutchinson has accumulated 19 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 1 forced fumble in five games.
Hutchinson has amassed 28.5 sacks since the Lions selected him with the second overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft. He is due for a massive contract deal, but the exact date of that extension became unclear following the 2024 season-ending injury. He is now contracted through the 2026 NFL season after the team selected his fifth-year option back in April.
