Eagles reward Nick Sirianni with massive contract extension after Super Bowl win

A multi-year contract extension was agreed by the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, months after the 43-year-old head coach guided the organization to its second-ever Super Bowl victory.

Although the contract’s exact terms were not disclosed, it’s likely that Sirianni received a sizable pay increase.

In 2021, Sirianni signed a five-year contract to become Philadelphia’s head coach. The last year of his contract was about to begin. Following the 2025 season, the extension will start.

“As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success,” Eagles chairman Jeffrey Lurie stated in the team’s statement. “Having outstanding leadership is the most crucial factor in creating such an atmosphere. Since we hired Nick four years ago, he has exemplified every quality we were seeking in a head coach. His genuine leadership style, football acumen, enthusiasm for the game, and growth attitude have all contributed to our team’s peak performance.

Under Sirianni, the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs each season and have won a title and two Super Bowls.

After George Allen and John Madden, Sirianni has the third-highest winning percentage in the Super Bowl era and is the only head coach in franchise history to have three Super Bowl appearances. He is the second-most successful head coach in NFL history in his first four seasons, with a total of 54 regular-season and postseason victories.

The Birds are 48-20 in the regular season and 6-3 in the postseason during Sirianni’s four seasons as head coach.

Three of Sirianni’s assistants are now head coaches in the NFL: Shane Steichen in Indianapolis, Kellen Moore in New Orleans, and Jonathan Gannon in Arizona. This indicates that a coaching tree has started to grow.
