Marcus Stroman gives Yankees exactly what they needed in debut

Marcus Stroman, the starting pitcher, has apparently been the target of trade attempts by the New York Yankees this winter. A deal makes sense since Stroman appears to be the Yankees’ sixth or seventh pitcher. The Yankees could be a little less inclined to trade Stroman given pitcher Luis Gil’s recent injury, but New York will probably accept a deal if one is offered.

Sportskeeda’s Jared Bloom recently forecast that the Yankees will trade Stroman to the New York Mets this season. “The New York Mets have seen a few injuries to their starting rotation,” Bloom stated. Sean Manaea had a right oblique injury, which led to his closure on Monday. Recently, Frankie Montas also emerged from the mound with difficulty. The clubs could consider Marcus Stroman. With a few starters that might push Stroman to the sixth man or a reliever, his future with the Yankees is in doubt. If the Yankees decide they want to trade Stroman, the Mets would be the ideal destination.

There are currently a number of unknowns in the Mets’ starting lineup. They might move more quickly to get another pitcher now that Manaea and Montas are out for the foreseeable being.
The Mets could probably complete a deal for relatively minimal prospect money if they were ready to accept Stroman’s contract. Notably, Stroman’s position on the roster appears secure until the Yankees are healthy.
