ESPN: Aaron Rodgers Receives Backdoor Jab from Pittsburgh Steelers Owner.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were at a standstill in the summer of 2021. In the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers made the contentious choice to trade up for Jordan Love in addition to selecting him. Everyone understood the decision’s message: Rodgers’ tenure in Green Bay was coming to an end.
To his credit, Love found Rodgers to be a superb mentor and colleague. He never once expressed his annoyance at the front office’s choice to choose the young quarterback in the draft for his replacement. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer was not, however, overjoyed.
Indeed, he was furious. However, he used this as inspiration and went on to win his third NFL MVP Award in 2020. After demonstrating that he was still among the league’s top quarterbacks, Rodgers decided to take the club and front staff to task for their insult.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers organization squared off.
Rodgers criticized the Packers organization following the 2020 NFL season. It is crucial to remember (again) that he never vented his resentment at their drafting of Love on his new protégé, but he was not silent about it either.
Nonetheless, he had a lot to say about the front office in general. During the offseason, Rodgers skipped voluntary exercises and even skipped training camp for a period.
When questioned about his irate star quarterback during the disagreement, Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy gave a response that many now believe to be true in light of what has transpired with Rodgers over the last four years.
“I’m often reminded though of Ted Thompson, as most of you know, just a great general manager, passed away this past year, or excuse me earlier this year. [He] often talked about Aaron, that he’s a… and it wasn’t just Aaron, a number of different athletes. “He’s a complicated fella,” he would say. I’ll just say that, then.
It’s interesting to note that another NFL owner—although Murphy isn’t actually an owner—just said something quite similar regarding the future Hall of Famer.
Pittsburgh Steelers Minority Owner Says Aaron Rodgers Is More Complex than AI
The four-time NFL MVP has not signed despite the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offer to play for them in 2025, despite the fact that no other teams are interested in him. However, Steelers minority owner Thomas Tull recently made a statement that caused some controversy when he was asked about Rodgers and his possible future in Pittsburgh during an appearance on CNBC’s “Power Launch” to discuss artificial intelligence (AI). Tull responded, “I’m here to talk about AI, and that’s a more complex issue than artificial intelligence.”
The backhanded remark is similar to Murphy’s description of Rodgers as “complicated” four years prior. However, the quarterback might not consider it an insult in the traditional sense. After all, his own documentary, “Enigma,” was released on Netflix last year.
Ironically, Pittsburgh’s present quarterback position may be described with the terms “complicated,” “complex,” and “enigma.”
