ESPN: Following the AFC Championship Game, the NFL Banned the Bills standout Player.
The NFL released many fines from conference title weekend as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs get ready for Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills and the Eagles played the Washington Commanders before Super Bowl LIX. With over six minutes left in the fourth quarter, Bills standout Matt Milano was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty in the team’s 32-29 defeat to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. In addition to receiving a 15-yard penalty that favored the Chiefs, the NFL revealed that Milano has now been penalized $11,255 for the needless roughness penalty, which coincidentally involved a face mask.
With one quarterback hit, one tackle for loss, one sack, and the second-highest number of tackles (9), Milano concluded the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs. Despite Milano’s effort, Buffalo lost to the Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, for the fourth time in a row during the postseason.
After defeating the Chiefs in a thrilling game, the Bills finished the playoffs with victories against the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens. Including the postseason, they had a 15-5 record at the end of the season. Following the Milano announcement, many other players, including Jordan Phillips (Bills), Travis Kelce (Chiefs), A.J. Brown (Eagles), Jalen Carter (Eagles), and Benjamin St. Juste (Commanders), were also fined during conference title weekend.
