Cade Klubnik is confident and ready for his first season as starting quarterback for No. 9 Clemson

Has the quarterback position become a true answer for the Cleveland Browns?

As 2025 approaches, the quarterback room for the Cleveland Browns is quite crowded. In addition to having Deshaun Watson under contract, who will miss the upcoming season due to an achilles injury, the team signed four new signal-callers to compete for the starting position this season.

After signing Joe Flacco in free agency, trading for Kenny Pickett, and selecting two quarterbacks in the NFL Draft, the Browns achieved the trifecta of quarterback acquisitions.

The Browns chose Colorado’s mysterious Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round and Oregon pistol slinger Dillon Gabriel in the third.

However, the Browns may need to address the position again in the upcoming summer because none of these players are guaranteed starters in the long run.

In his Three-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft, Travis May of A to Z Sports predicts that the Browns will choose Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik with the third overall pick because he thinks it’s exactly the direction the team is going.

“With the exception of Cam Ward (Miami) and Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Cade Klubnik had already thrown more passing touchdowns than any quarterback in the country going into the College Football Playoffs last year. In 2024, Klubnik finally came together because he was explosive on the ground and even more effective in the air. Even though he finished in the top 10 passing profiles in the country last season, many still appear to dispute on his skills. May wrote.

“With so many weapons at his disposal, Clemson is well-positioned to advance in his growth, post some incredible stats, and perhaps even challenge the Tigers for a national title. As you can see from the nine minutes of highlights on the page below, this former five-star stud appears to be on pace for first-round capital, and the Browns make another successful quarterback selection.

May also predicts that the Browns will select defensive tackle Peter Woods, who is also from Clemson, with the No. 8 selection they receive from Jacksonville.

Mason Graham was just selected by the Browns, but it’s always a good idea to have the greatest defensive trenches in football. Peter Woods, a devastating B-gap tackle with back-to-back seasons of pass rush pressure rates close to double positional average, can line up wherever along the defensive front. As of right now, Woods is by far the finest defensive line prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft.

May predicts that the Browns will choose Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. in the second round and Notre Dame’s Charles Jagusah in the third, who will provide some offensive line support.
