ESPN: The Chiefs favorite kicker affirms he meant every derogatory, homophobic, and sexist remark he made.
Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, made it quite evident that he meant every single racist thing he said in that lecture at Benedictine College. Butker had previously made nasty remarks that were homophobic, transphobic, and sexist.

Speaking to reporters this week at the Chiefs training camp, he said that he had given his speech a great deal of thought and that he had carefully considered every word he would use.
He made it plain, “I’m going to stand behind what I’m saying.”
Butker’s remarks that women are happiest when they stay in the kitchen and serve their men caused a flurry of criticism in May. He attacked the LGBTQ community when discussing the idea of a person’s pride.
He described Pride Month in June as “not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it, but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him.”
However, the Chiefs recently signed Butker to a four-year, $25.6 million contract, making him the best paid kicker in the NFL.
According to Butker, he was speaking about “what I believe to be very important.” While some racists, sexists, and homophobes would rather keep their hate speech to themselves for fear of hurting others, Butker feels empowered to openly express his hatred and make derogatory remarks about women and LGBT people.
He then continued with his ridiculous tirade about loving the individuals you are disparaging in front of others.
“I want people to know that no matter what I say, which might be the exact opposite of what you think — no matter how different we may be, no matter what your opinions are, I’m still going to love you,” he said. “I’m will adore you, and the likelihood is that we will become close friends.”
Yes, it’s a terrific way to start a romantic relationship to tell women that they belong in the kitchen and to tell gay people that they are a deadly sin.
Butker and his spouse are parents to three children—at least one girl and one boy. Hopefully, none of them identify as gay and are subjected to their father’s overt homophobia.
