An ACC defensive tackle transfer is anticipated to pay Arkansas an official visit.

Tawfiq Thomas, a defensive tackle for Louisville, will begin his visitation to Fayetteville on Wednesday at noon. On Monday, he went via the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-4, 300-pound Thomas saw action in 11 games and recorded 4 tackles for first-year head coach Jeff Brohm in 2023.

He had eight tackles and played 110 snaps in 10 games as a true freshman for former Cardinal coach Scott Satterfield, who left to take the coaching job in Cincinnati following the 2022 year.

When Thomas was a senior at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, he was generally regarded as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class. Prior to choosing the Cardinals, he received offers from Arkansas, Michigan, Miami, Iowa State, Kansas, Maryland, and other teams.

After Just One Season, Defensive Back Attacks Portal as Razorback

Lorando Johnson, Arkansas, Cornerback

Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson, who transferred from Baylor, will be searching for a third school.

Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE According to Brandon Marcello of 247Sports, Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson entered the portal on Monday, meaning Arkansas will now be shorthanded at defensive back.

After three seasons at Baylor (where he redshirted in 2020), Slaughter played for the Razorbacks during the 2023 season. In his two seasons at Baylor and Arkansas, Johnson started twelve games. In 2023, he recorded one sack and 29 tackles (20 solo) while wearing a Hogs outfit.

Doneiko Slaughter, an incoming defensive back transfer from Tennessee, showed promise as a starter throughout the spring.

After the Red-White game, coach Sam Pittman accepted that as few players as possible would have to go through the portal.

Pittman declared, “We’re going to [lose some players].” “We could, but I hope not. I’m not sure why you’re leaving this squad. Our football team is good. But I am aware of the football landscape.”

Since the gateway reopened, Johnson has joined Max Fletcher, Paris Patterson, Isaiah Augustave, and Jacolby Criswell in heading for the exits. The gateway shuts on April 30.
